Canada won 3:0 over Jamaica in their semi-final match to reach the Final of the 2022 Concacaf W Championship. Jessie Fleming opened the scoring once again while Alyssa Chapman and Adriana Leon got on the scoresheet in the second half. Kailen Sheridan and her backline posted their fourth consecutive clean sheet of the tournament.

Canada will play their rival USA in the Final on Monday 18 July at 21.00 local (22.00 ET / 19.00 PT) in the 2022 Concacaf W Championship with a chance to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Jessie Fleming opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a header after a cross from Ashley Lawrence who had skipped down the left side of the Jamaica defence. A quadruple sub by Head Coach Bev Priestman in the 53rd minute brought on Alyssa Chapman, Julia Grosso, Jordyn Huitema and Adriana Leon.  Their impact was felt when two of the substitutes connected on the second goal in the 64th minute after a splendid cross by Leon was headed on perfectly by Chapman. Leon added another 12 minutes later in the 76th minute to extend Canada’s lead to 3:0.

“Clean sheet, three goals, and we’ve added fullback to the many positions that have scored at this tournament,” said Bev Priestman, Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team Head Coach. “We’re over the moon to be in the Final, but we’re not just here to take part in the Final. Our goal is qualification to the Olympic Games through this tournament.”
